I’m putting together a mobile recording kit to give audiobook production another shot. Some time ago under Verkaro Audiobooks I worked with a few talented voice actors in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Together we recorded short audio works anywhere we could find the space and time. Giving familiar poetry and short stories a fresh voice and releasing the recordings free was purely a labor of love. Apparently it showed. We garnered a few decent reviews, received great emails, and had our share of fun while doing it.

I live in Albuquerque now. Looking back I rather enjoyed the audiobook work we did under Verkaro. A few months ago I found myself buying microphones and gear. I take that as a sign. It’s time to set up some local auditions, pair some voice talent with good material, and get recording again.
